Chlorella can help make better breast milk

2. Fatigue
Chlorella is a good supplement to use for overall nutrition and detoxification for those with fatigue. It complements other nutrients recommended in this book for the nutritional treatment of these symptoms. Some patients with fatigue cannot tolerate energy-enhancing supplements. Chlorella, being more of a food-based supplement, is usually tolerated quite nicely by those with sensitivities.

3. Fibromyalgia
This is a chronic painful condition of the muscles and tendons that involves several “tender points.” A double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study published in Phytotherapy Research discovered that chlorella was good at relieving the signs and symptoms of fibromyalgia. Participants supplemented with 10g chlorella tablets and 100ml of liquid chlorella tablets and 100ml of liquid of liquid chlorella. Another trial found benefit too.

4. Gene Expression and Health Protection
A fairly new field generally known as nutrigenomics involves the use of food products and nutrients to favorably affect gene expression. The impact of chlorella was studied on 17 people with risk factors for lifestyle-related diseases and 17 healthy participants over a 16-week period, including a four-week post-observation period. Blood tests and gene expression profiles were completed both before and after chlorella intake. Researchers confirmed that in both groups chlorella intake resulted in noticeable reductions in body fat percentage, serum total cholesterol, and fasting blood glucose levels. Also, gene expression analysis found effects of chlorella, including insulin-signaling pathways involved in lowering glucose levels.
